What are the WordPads?
WordPads are handheld responders given out to each student at the beginning of a lesson. The responders provide an avenue for students to directly respond and interact with a teacher’s lesson (for WordWall use within a corporate setting click here). They provide students with the ability to not only submit basic A, B or C/multi-choice style voting, but to express opinions, submit answers, and contribute ideas/opinions using individual phone-style text pads.

WordWall Features
- WordPad responders make use of a mobile phone style text pad

- Instant opinion polls gauges class thinking
- Full quiz and mark recording features

- Individual LCD screen enables students to view their answers before they submit them.
With it’s mobile phone-style text pad and LCD screen the WordPad responders provide students with the ability to text multiple word answers up to a shared space (data projector, interactive whiteboard, teacher’s laptop), along with the ability to navigate around the board whilst responding to numerical questions, voting, participating in multi-choice quizzes, and expressing their point of view in opinion polls.

How does the text response work?
The teacher sets the question and the students respond to it using the WordPad responders’ text functionality. With WordPad’s keys being set up exactly the same as a standard mobile phone students simply write their answer/opinion and send it directly to the teacher’s computer. The teacher can then choose to display all the messages or just a range and order them on the screen how they wish. There is no limit on the length of the answer – just what you can fit on the projected screen.

Setting a basic quiz
The beauty of WordWall is that you can easily create and administer a basic multi-choice quiz at any point during your lesson. Whether it be testing knowledge learnt during yesterday’s lesson or gauging knowledge on a new topic, WordWall provides you with the tools to create and instantly judge just how advanced your class is.

What types of interactive activities can be created?
With 19 interactive activity templates (known as wizards), teachers are provided with a variety of ways to include every student with the lesson and its content. Whether it’s a debate starter (instant opinion polls), an open-ended question or a basic quiz, the WordPads do it all. Teachers gain instant feedback along with insights into where class thinking is, as well as an increased level of interactivity and engagement.

Do I need an interactive Whiteboard?
No, WordPads work perfectly fine with just a standard data projector. But, when WordWall software is used in conjunction with an interactive whiteboard a whole range of innovative features become available.

What software comes with the WordPads?
The complete WordWall package is made up of two distinctive parts: the WordPad response pads, and the WordWall interactive software. The WordWall interface is ideal for creating and delivering lesson activities.
